Re:
Yes to everything apart from the chrome and black wheels ... really don''t like them, think some nice white 5 spoked would suit the design on the car better.

Car Choice Is Lotus Elan +2 CN Cabriolet 1968
Is the soft top rare .
How often do you come across one of these? And what's more it is in fantastic condition.
Christopher Neil Sport Cars (Well known Lotus dealer and long time Elan specialist) converted a number of standard Elan +2's to cabriolets.
An early bucket seat Elan +2 1968 and one of the first 500 produced, finished in Lotus Cirrus white with oatmeal interior.
The previous long term owner purchased this Elan in standard form back in 1981 and set about a full restoration including a Lotus chassis from Spyder engineering.
In 1988 he sent the Elan to Christopher Neil's for the cabriolet conversion, along with a full respray, rewire and trim the bill came to £8280 this was on top of the other restoration work.
We have just put her throught our workshops for the following work. A full brake rebuild, fully serviced the engine changed all the fluids and ran a full compression test which returned great results, set the timing and retuned the carbs.
The body work is lovely, the bumpers have just been re-chromed, the interior and hood are excellent and more importantly she drive lovely. The chassis is in perfect condition it was a Lotus replacement from Spyder not a Spyder chassis. It still looks like new.
If you want a rare convertible Lotus with 2+2 seating in excellent condition with gleaming white paintwork then you have found the perfect car.

S Reg, Lotus Esprit Turbo GT3
54k miles, Full Service History, Taxed & Tested - May px - no rubbish
I am selling my Lotus Esprit GT3. It is a very nice example of this rare model.
The car is MOT'd until March next year. New dunlops all around, last service was carried out at 50k miles.
Full leather interior, with aluminium detailing to the dash. Many Esprit's have a disgusting fake wood dash, this is the uplifted dash.
Lotus racing steering wheel.
Fully documented service history, including all manuals from new. All bills & receipts folder.
The Spec is as follows:
* The V8 body kit has also been fitted, which gives the fantastic looking flared arches, rear spolier and front and rear lip.
* Aftermarket Twin powerflow exhaust, with a lifetime guarantee.
* Fully adjustable suspension.
* K&N air filter.
* 18" OZ saturns.
* Dump Valve.
* Alpine sound system.
* V8 comfort seats.
* Aircon.
* Power steering.
* ABS.
* Clear indicators.
* Removable roof panel.
The car is unfortunately a Cat C, hence the very cheap starting price. However, the vehicle was damaged when it was only 3 months old.
Also, last month either the chargecooler or the turbo have seemed to stop working, it drives ok but doesnt have the same power as when all was working ok.
When i polish the car, it really does look mint for a 10 year old car, with supercar looks, just a small amount of laquer peel on the front bumper. Please no test pilots or timewasters. I will not ship the car abroad. Cash on collection only. Please contact me for any further information, good luck bidding.

Re: Eddies car find of the month
Hi all,
Insurance write offs can present problems when it comes to getting them insured again.
Cat C is the first of the write off classes that can be legally be put back on the road.
It is defined as "An extensively damaged vehicle which the insurer has decided not to repair, but which could be repaired and returned to the road."
If the car was only 3 months old it must have been something major. Most policies have a clause that says if that in the case of a car less than 1 year old, that if repair costs exceed 60% of the purchase price of the car they will replace it with an equivalent model instead of repairing it. So in this case we can be sure that repair costs were going to exceed 60% of its new price at least, which is some damage.
Generally fibre glass cars do tend to be written off sooner than an equivalent metal car as the costs of fibre glass repairs by virtue of their labour intensive nature tend to be very expensive. With an Esprit where you cannot simply replace a clam this may well have been the reason for it being written off. It happens more frequently on older fibre glass cars as the repair costs become disproportionate to the vehicles value more quickly as the car gets older.
You can get "write offs" insured but it MUST be declared to the insurer, and the car must be bought cheaply enough. If the car is damaged and written off again the insurers offer will be low, the value would be based on it being a previous write off and not that of an ordinary car of that age.
You have to buy them with your eyes wide open, find out as much as you can about why it was written off, and get it for the right price. Also, because not all companies will insure these written off cars you might find your insurance is higher in the first place.

1981 DeLorean
I think you're all looking at the wrong cars.
US $129,000.00
1981 Delorean Replica
Well, if you've been looking for a Delorean Time Machine, look no further. This is the most screen accurate Back to the Future Delorean Time Machine replica to ever appear on eBay. It is a real masterpiece. You might be asking yourself why it's so expensive? Well, try to build a super-accurate Delorean Time Machine yourself, and you'll quickly see how time consuming it is. That last 20% of accuracy takes 500% more time and effort.

Re: Eddies car find of the month
John,
Not sure what I'm doing at the moment (with Lotus ownership I mean). I had five different Lotuses over the last 15 years but decided that I should take a break from them. I have all sorts of pressures at work right now so don't get much time to myself other than weekends so I haven't used the Elise much. I'll hang on to the cash as long as I can through the winter and decide then. Another Elise is in pole position in my thoughts but an S1 this time so I'll have to wait and see.
Cheers,
Tim.
