History

Left the factory 4 July 1968 painted Regency Red. Originally sold by Moto Baldet in the UK and imported to Australia ~sometime~ in the late 70's. Purchased by a CLA (Club Lotus Australia) member in the early 80's, the vehicle was registered until the early 90's when it underwent a body off rebuild. The reported purpose of this rebuild was as a track car, although the vehicle never saw a track. The chassis was re-jigged, stiffened and re-coated in 2 pak epoxy; the suspension was rebuilt with poly bushes, Koni shocks and upgraded springs; all brake lines were replaced, calipers rebuilt, booster re-conditioned. Just about everything that could be replaced or renewed was replaced, renewed or reconditioned. The body was resprayed and the interior fully retrimmed in leather. Apparently, the owner then ran out of money and the vehicle then sat in a garage for the next 10+ years.

Purchased by a long time CLA member with over 30 years experience with Elans in 2006, the rebuild was completed and a new engine built.

I purchased the vehicle in 2007, finished off the assembly, got the car roadworthy and inspected for full NSW rego.
