M100 'A' Pillar seals
Copied this from Club Lotus Web site - may be of interest to M100 owners
Elan M100 'A ' Pillar seals now available
Good news for all Elan M100 owners with 'A' pillar water leaks. Lotus Cars have just taken delivery of a consignment of replacement rubber seals (part nos B100V0117F & 118F A Pillar Seals).
These have been out of stock for some time so now's your chance to get hold of a pair. Even if your seals are in good condition it's worth buying a set for later on, especially as the price has been reduced from £122.33 each + vat (total £143.74) when last available in 2005, to just £63.82 + vat each (total £74.9.
This equals a bargain £150 per pair inc vat - half the original price!
Order now from your local main dealer. If they tell you they're not available just ask them to check with the factory.

not as expected
Just recieved a pair for my car but I'm not that impressed with the quality.
I was expecting a smoother finish from the "factory" parts but maybe that's the way they were as new.
I am only changing them because the edge splits and it looks bad.
Any other members purchased from this batch?

Well just recieved a positive reply from Chris neil - they asked for them back and they will compare with stock to see if mine are up to scratch.
I will send them back for look see .
It seems we are all happy with them or perhaps I am the only buyer?

I have heard of a few Elan owners who have purchased a set of these but I've never seen first hand or heard how they compare to the originals, or how easy to replace they are. Luckily mine are still in good nick, using plenty of silicone on them, but I'm sure one day will come where some new ones would look the business.
I would like to see some photos if you get the time at some point

Re: M100 'A' Pillar seals
I thought I saw them listed on the S&J Sportscars M100 parts list?

Chris Foulds are advertising them in this month's CL magazine so I guess they are still around!

Re:
They are available as far as I am aware since Lotus started re-producing them. Williams of Bristol, SJ Sportscars and Paul Matty's all list them but otherwise just give Lotus aftersales a call and then collect from your local dealer. They are being sold around £65.00 + vat each.tivadad wrote:Are A Pillar seals still to be found?

Glad you have yours , I'm still waiting for my replacements from Chris Neil's.
I hope they will prove as good as yours.
Fitting will be a challenge and I would hope to cure the dreaded wet knee leak at the same time.
perhaps one of our members may do a write up for dummies?
