Guys im a member of the lotus club in Australia, i have a picture at our site below of the elise times at the top gear track at

http://www.petepigott.com/

& i have to say THIS

WHY IS LOTUS ELISE (that they test) SLOWER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE ? affraid

as
a proud member of the Lotus club in Australia im always very disturbed to see the results of
the elise at the Top Gear track, when watching I always stop the tape to see
where the elise actually comes & still cant believe my eyes... has anyone
actually noticed?
When you consider that the track itself in UK is the
official lotus test track, the times in the elise have been (& i hate to say it) poor compared to
even standard cars. example image at our site at the bottom.

This car in Australia is worth new at
70K...we understand its not all about speed but why cant Top gear just
keep the faster elises on their board?
or is it that the Stig is just using the brakes more??

Thats my 2 cents worth...cheers nice to see the club going well overseas.

Pete

Hi Pete

Just looking at the times 1.35.6 not the bottom but the Exige are further up the list but the lotus Elise is in front of the Aston Martin Vanquish 1.36.2 with alot more power it must be one of them tracks what we need is Russ Treasure the orange Stig to do the lap around the track..

Good the hear from our Australia Lotus members any photos of your cars.

Eddie King.

Every performance road car that comes to the Top Gear test track eventually ends up in the hands of our tame racing driver. Some say that his face appears on high-value stamps in Sweden and that he's afraid of bells. All we know is, he's called the Stig.

He doesn't do sponsorship, excuses or post race press-conferences. He exists for one reason alone: To wring every last drop of performance out of any car he drives, giving us a definitive lap time around our demanding test track.

Top Gear lap board ... nice one Eddie Cool

Also welcome along Pete and thanks for the link. It is certainly nice to hear from someone so far away and like Eddie said it would be nice to see some photos.
