Is there a trick to removing the gear knob from my 2001 Elise..
It seems to be welded on. Are there hidden screws?
Help please

Lotus Elise S2 Gear Knob Empty Re: Lotus Elise S2 Gear Knob

Hi Julian,
welcome to our Club.

I had difficulty in removing my S2 gear knob as well, try putting on some rubber gloves so you can get a really firm grip on it and then give it a good anti-clockwise turn, worth also trying to turn it both ways as well as that sometimes helps to break the seal. In the end I got mine to move with a stiltson (think thats how you spell it) a big wrench anyway, but that of course damaged the finish so it was then scrap but I was changing it for a new one.
Cheers,
Tim.
