Re:
Was looking forward to this years Christmas Special from Top Gear. Three stupid blokes crossing some of the most dangerous terrain in the World. Watched it on Sunday and most of the repeat on Monday night (there's nothing else on!)
Re: Top Gear
Well I watched it, the Scenery was great although snatched from someone else's Show.
To be honest I found the Show even more improvised than their normal level of improvisation.
I don't know why I watch Mr. Film Star & Mr. Opinionated.
I suppose "Captain Slow" is the one that keeps it almost normal.
They can carry on wrecking Caravans though, I enjoy that!
You have to grow old (better than the alternative) but you don't have to grow up
Cheers

Re: Top Gear
Best bit was at 16700 ft, Clarkson was quiet and close to death.
This is the only reason I keep my blue pills, in case I get stuck high up a mountain pass in Warwickshire....honest!

Oh how I understand where you're coming from; that Hill going down into Henley-in-Arden can be treacherous & a nice Ice Cream when you get into the Town is a much needed reward.
If your Handle's Blue what colour's your Head Trigger ("I've had the same Broom for 25yrs")

Re: Top Gear
I tried to see the video but since I come from Italy, BBC doesn't allow me to see the clip : do you have any suggestion?
Re:
Some get around this by using sharing sites such as isohunt.com to obtain illegal/legal? copies of TV programs but you have to remember that TV is not free and it is certainly illegal to download in the UK reading this: http://copyrightservice.co.uk/copyright/uk_law_summaryaquilante wrote:I tried to see the video but since I come from Italy, BBC doesn't allow me to see the clip : do you have any suggestion?
You have to have a TV license in the UK to even watch programs on iPlayer, even if you have no TV as such. There are sites which advertise a solution by providing you with a UK based proxy setup via a small fee per month. This would work using the fact that iPlayer would think you are in the UK but again I doubt this can be legal or a good way to spend money.
The reason why there is no advertising is that BBC iPlayer, like the BBC itself, is funded by the UK TV license; if you don't pay for a TV license then you legally have no right to watch BBC iPlayer abroad.
May be worth keeping an eye out on here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F7331806?thread=6443499
Re: Top Gear
Thank you Trigger.
Here in Italy, the national TV is funded on TV license but, for unknown reasons, we have advertising too

Re: Top Gear
I'm not sure of the legal issues but BBC & ITV Programes are transmitted via Satellite & are so called FTA Free to Air & not encrypted.
Any FTA Satellite receiver is suitable but something like a Humax ICord HD is able to receive & record BBC & ITV HD transmissions.
I big problem in Italy is that you will be on the edge of the Satellite "Footprint" & a very large Dish will be necessary & it may not be possible at all.
You will have to ask around.
In South Germany a 1 Meter Dish is the minimum usable size.
To but the Boot on the other Foot all German TV Channels are freely available via Satellite in GB.
Cheers

New Series
There has been a lot of talk that the Top Gear crew have been spotted doing some filming in Staffordshire in some old TVR's and a yellow Elan M100, driven by the Hamster!

Re: Top Gear
Should be great...hope the Elan holds its own, I guess if Hampster is in the Elan then Clarkson must be in the TVR. What the hell is in the Elan, looks like a huge plant pot and a pump? maybe they are off to the garden centre? Don't forget to let us know when its on the TV Chris...I'm sure you will find out.
