Redhead in a Lotus
Greetings all Rache, 38, driver of a titanium S2 Elise. My father had a Lotus 7 before he was married (the freedom days!) so the family genes kicked in and I obsessed about owning an Elise for years before finally buying one thanks to a savings policy. I'm a big motorsport fan and can happily talk cars for hours, I've done plenty of time living in race paddocks thanks to two exes who raced cars and bikes. I'm taking dad across to Ypres for the Lotus tour in May, and I'll be at the June Snetterton event too. Stelvio is also on my list!
I love WW2 aviation, particularly heavy bombers and fighter escorts, and I occasionally help out at the Thorpe Abbotts tower museum:
I flew in a B17 in 2005 in America, VERY memorable occasion! I've also done a wingwalk with Team Guinot (now Breitling). An awesome and physically exhausting 10 minute flight, so next time you see those tiny girls up there doing their thing, give them massive respect - they are athletes!!
My other form of transport is a 1963 Morris Minor pickup but my Elise is the fave - nothing takes roundabouts like it!! Anyhow, I will be lurking and poppping up at various events this year.
As you were

Re: Redhead in a Lotus
Welcome to our Club and glad you have found your way onto our forum.
Elise and a Minor pick-up....very interesting mix, not the usual! Reminds me of a neighbour who used to drive a very standard looking Mini pick-up, but it had a hot Cooper 'S' engine so he used to scare all sorts of hot hatches to death when he overtook them on roundabouts - happy days.
Have a look at our website for the list of events and area meetings, I'm sure you'll find something of interest, there is bound to be something that will cause you to take the Elise out for a spin!
Cheers,
Tim.

Re: Redhead in a Lotus
My folks have a 1935 Morris Eight and a 1950 Moggie Spit screen convertible so again, it's a family thing The pickup is gorgeous, it's just had a new back end and a respray in traditional Morris green I'm moving house soon and will have a garage, driveway and carport, so I'll be able to have the pickup back with me again as it's been living with the folks cos my current house is on a dodgy estate where it'd last 5 minutes!
