2009 Germany Visit to 'The Barn'
Well what an absolutely fabulous trip and time we all had. Our visit to the lovely Barn in Germany went without any major hiccups’ or faults for all five cars and along with some very amusing happenings made for a memorable time. Tash and I took the whole of Thursday to travel to our rendezvous point half hour out of Harwich and managed to stop at Cambridge for a first time experience (blooming bikes!) The ferry left at a quarter to midnight and the crossing was calm throughout and the next day was hot sunshine for our 9 hour trip across Holland and Germany. The German motorways were fast moving but the country roads were smooth and windy which made for some great fun for all of the cars and classic bikes. Our kind German hosts provided us with two days out to a local town called Goslar and the Marienburg Castle. I have posted a good selection of the photos taken by Tash over the trip and look forward to the full story write-up in the next edition of Chicane ... it'll be a good one! Enjoy the photos.
German Trip to the Barn
We had a fantastic weekend. The crossing was smooth and calm, the roads across Germany fast and
furious. Then more relaxing as led by our classic bike escourt we explored some local sights. Goslar was
stunning with its towers and turrets and quaint streets and lively market place. Marienberg Schloss was
beautiful and very interesting to find out about the royal link between our two countries. The weather couldnt have been better and our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. A very big thankyou to Britta and the
team at Kunst Cafe/The Barn.
We arrived home exhausted but elated with our successful adventure.

Couldn't agree more
Hi All
Safely home and reliving the events of the weekend, and what a fantastic weekend it was. We had a great laugh and it was so good to see Britta again. She was a fantastic host and her Germany 'biker' friends were amazing as was their English. With our own private escort we toured some fantastic roads. Our little 'pension' was clean and very close to Britta's which meant that we could leave the cars there.
Read more about it in the article in the next Chicane.
Just a word to all who went - thank you all for a great time lets do it again soon.
