"Sheer Efficiency" or "The original Green Machine"

The way Lotus has managed to design lightweight cars that are capable of such performance & low fuel consumption with small engines has always amazed me.
Read here Mk 7; Mk 14 Elite; Elan; Europa etc..
The Elise in todays World of rules & regulations is a testimony to the Lotus way of resolving design problems.
A superb lightweight sports car that complies with todays safety standards; a lesson that every car maker can learn from.
Lotus still can show others how to "think outside of the box"

Cheers

The Lotus Sutra (this is a great name for a car!) is one of the most important texts in Buddhism and is considered by many as its finest gem. It is one of the most famous scriptures of Mahayana Buddhism and is the second of three sutras. The defining doctrine of Mahayana Buddhism is the belief that all people can reach an enlightened state.................just as you can while driving a Lotus

Cor, that's a bit bloomin' highbrow innit Shocked
Must admit to scanning through the Kama Sutra, many years ago; for what good that did me Laughing
I just get a bit scared when I drive my Elan but must admit to very often reaching an enlightened state when trying to repair it affraid

Having just spent most of the day trying to write and put together the next edition of Chicane...my eyes are blurred, my head is buzzing and I've just about had enough, so I thought I'd just check the forum to see what's going on.... your responses are both amusing and enlightening...well done.. I can't think of anything to top it, I'll have a think after a nights sleep!
All the best.

Colin Chapman invented the best handling cars in world, created some of the best innovative Formula 1 cars ever seen, introduced sponsorship into motor sport, and 'found' Jimmy Clark. - His legacy still remains today with the spirit of what made Britain great - true passion....what more can I say?....may Lotus go on forever.. Smile
