Can't help on the shipping but there are some other things you need to be aware of. If you are from Oz you will probably already know but if not hold onto your hat.

Importing cars in to Oz is hard work unless the cars is built before January 1989. But the car has to be original. Even then there are still a number of hoops to go throughnot least that not all ports will accept old cars into port!

There are other schemes for personal import, Retuning expat Ozzies or for first time settlers when taxation rules are relaxed but lots of other regulations about ADRs, Austrailian Design Rules that the car might have to be altered to comply with and these can vary from state to state!

Lots of paper work and veryfication of 12 months previous and continous use (Not just ownership) required if you are claiming it as a personal import.

If the car has air con, more rules and regulations about polluting the ozone.

Lots and lots of rules so check out this web site, http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/importing_vehicles/general/EligibilityCriteria_2.aspx
