A variety of high profile events have been planned for 2008 that will pay homage to the heritage of the marque and look forward to the future of the international brand. The pinnacle of the campaign is a landmark event held at the Lotus Headquarters in Hethel, England on 14th September 2008 and will be opened by Hazel and Clive Chapman.

Lotus has a history of holding fantastic public events and the 60th Birthday Party will follow this vein. Over 15,000 visitors are expected and will be a fun-filled day that all the family can enjoy.

It was in 1948 that Colin Chapman built his first racecar. A pioneer, his breakthrough engineering firmly established him as one of the greatest automotive engineers of the 20th century. Chapman’s theory of “performance through lightweight” formed the foundation of one of the most successful racing teams to date and is embedded in the Lotus philosophy.

Due to high demand not only will ‘Lotus Laps’ be available for the duration of the open day, but there will also be an opportunity for open day ticket holders to enjoy their demonstrations on Saturday 13th September as well!

All ‘Lotus Laps’ will be pre-booked and available to open day ticket holders only, limited to 1 ‘Lotus Laps’ booking per person.

There will be a BBQ at Hethel on sat 13th sept at £12 per head which incleuds Finally, Lotus Club International are having a BBQ @ Hethel Saturday night 6pm-9pm price £12 each plus a preview of the new Evora. We'll be going, but not camping ! Too cold for that in September. Staying at the Holiday Inn, Carrow Road.

There was supposed to be a treasure hunt (un official) or something on the Saturday, but now it seems that isn't happening Sad

I don't think Lotus are doing anything on Saturday (except the BBQ), anything else will be unofficial, so need to keep our eyes on the various websites.

There is a quick guide here so just get yourself a free account on photobucket or like, and copy either the URL link into the image icon on the bar above the post or insert the IMG link directly into the post.

I have been looking at the photos that msn have posted and it looks great ... would have loved to have been there to see the production line and the Evora story. Am on the case of planning for the NEC though lol. Not going to miss this one.
