Cricky it's tonight for you lot. Hope the weather clears up for you and I await your views on the experience, don't have too much fun else I will feel even more jelousrocket63 wrote:Counting down the hours. Rain has cleared but very windy still.
Re: Silverstone Lotus Track Time
Well the weather was truly awful. The rain didnt stop and the track was deluged with water.
Even so it was a great evening and a test of car control. Much ocus was required just to stay on the track.
I must admit that my Yoko A048s were not the best choice of tyres for a cold wet evening, with little or no traction as I could not get any heat into them.
Anyway, Had a great time with Paul, Nick & co.
Heres to the next time...............

Re:
Glad to hear you had a good time of it, especially with the weather conditions. Photos look good too.
What did you guys think of the healthcheck and the team on hand? From what Mike Stripe said he was quite impressed and I'm tempted to get down to Silverstone more often for a service and some fun more importantly.

Re: Silverstone Lotus Track Time
There were 5 sighting laps behind two pace cars which saw two cars that I know of spin off at low speed and possibly as many as 5 out of 17 I believe.
On the open track, the very first lap saw the red flags out as a yellow Elise (not mine) spun through Becketts and backwards into the tyre barrier. As this happened in front of me, an S1 Elise then presented itself as he spun on the Hangar straight, pointing the wrong way.
All this and 1 hour 59 minutes still to go.
Beyond that there were numerous yellows, but No further Reds until the end of the session.
