Whistling Fuel Pump? Empty Whistling Fuel Pump?

Post  Craig Barnes Sun Jun 14, 2009 9:23 pm

Hello I have a 2001 S2 Elise. There is an annoying High pitched whistling noise which appears to be associated with the fuel pump. Does any one have any thoughts on what this may be?

If I need to replace the pump is it absolutly necessary to remove the fuel tank?

Is the fuel pump from another model of car if so which?

Thanks in advance.

Whistling Fuel Pump? Empty Re:

Welcome along Craig.

I've not heard of this problem before from the Elise but it may well be the case. Have you had it looked at by a garage or is it pretty obvious? SJ Sportscars list a new Elise S2 fuel pump and gauge unit (A111L6007F)
