oil knightmare
H aving a knightmare trying to findout what oil to use in my Elise S1 165bph,I do want to do some trackdays so want a good performance oil for the job. does anyone have any idea's

have done mate they have come up with a different idea to others, going to speak to hanger 111 who where the last people to service it, they are on holiday till 18th aug

Oh dear ... who by? Elise owners? I found it similar when coming to tyre choices excluding the Michelins but this just depended on owners views, no real trend. no only by suppliers.going to speak to people at lotus meet ace cafe next week. proofs in the pudding.

sorted. got lotus to recomend oil in end. used Mobil 1 15W50. change all done now.

I wouldn't use Mobil 1 - there are far better fully synthetic oils out there. Currently Motul 300V 15W50 is the best option, but in April 2010 the new Motul Sport 5W50 (produced for the UK market) would be a good alternative if you are doing road and track, especially in the winter months.
