With all the web-exclusive Stig videos and supercar blogs littered across TopGear.com this week, it can’t have escaped your notice that we’ve been thinking hard about on the fastest cars of the year. Top Gear magazine’s been at it too – and you can read even more about Stig’s showdown in the September issue.
But one thing we haven’t done is choose a winner. And we won’t. Why? Because we set out to celebrate the best performance cars of 2009 and, be honest, can you really compare a Murcielago SV with a Renault Clio? Exactly.

Let’s forget that for a moment, though. When we pushed the TG office for a favourite, we still found one – not based on maths or science, just a feeling. A feeling based on one criteria – that you’d have to drive it every day for a year.

And that’s what we want you to do here. So pick your favourite, vote with your hearts and we’ll tell you once we’ve closed the poll which one we’d want to live with if push did come to a shove. Oh, and don’t worry that you haven’t watched videos or read about them all yet, we’ll be rolling out details of the rest of the cars all this week – and, of course, you can always pop to the newsagent for a copy of the mag.
