Elan + 2 conversions
Having been trying to do some research on Elan +2 DHC.
Some people say there was limited number converted in the factory, some say there were 3 main companies who carried out the conversions.
So far nobody has managed to tell me who the companies were, anybody know?
Or do you know if some were done in the factory?
Either way anybody got any idea where & how I can find out who made mine in to a DHC.
All the V5 says that its an Elan +2s, rigid axle body.

Re: Elan + 2 conversions
As far as I know none were done by the factory, I think Christopher Neil did most of them so he would be a good starting point for your investigation.

Came across this on LotusElan.net it's a news letter from Christopher Neil c.1984 with details of the cabriolet conversion.

Re: Elan + 2 conversions
I was refering to the company "Christopher Neil" (now part of the Oakmere Motor Group it would seem) not the partners Christopher and Neil.
Pedantic back at you.... and a bit grumpy today (at work instead of at home working on the seven )
Of course if I got on with work instead of hanging around here I could get home earlier......

Re: Elan + 2 conversions
Shall we settle for a "they" then.
No wonder you're Grumpy, having to work on a Saturday.
Just to rub it in; I haven't worked since Sept. 2008
But then I don't have a shiny 7 to play with , so it's definitely one up to you.
Enjoy at least your Sunday.

Re: Elan + 2 conversions
Got home by 4pm so had an hour or so to work on the Seven, so not too bad.
Anyway to drag this back on topic and hand back to the original poster, please let us know if you manage to find out more about the history of your +2 Convertible
